Policies

These policies outline the general terms, expectations, and working process for all commercial photography services provided by Hannah Shea. Every project is customized and governed by a written agreement, but this page serves to clarify how I typically operate across all professional engagements.

Booking and Payment

To reserve a project date, a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer are required. No project is confirmed without both.

The remaining balance is typically due shortly after the project date, as outlined in the contract. Late payments may delay delivery of final materials or result in additional fees.

Project Scope and Deliverables

Each commercial photography project includes a defined scope of work, including deliverables, coverage duration, image format, and any additional services. These details will be specified in your contract.

Initial image previews (proofs) are delivered within an agreed-upon timeframe after the shoot. Final edited images are delivered after selections are confirmed.

Image Licensing and Usage

Clients receive a limited-use license for commercial purposes including, but not limited to, web, marketing, and social media use.

Images may not be altered, sold, or distributed to third parties without express written permission. Additional licensing or full copyright transfer is available upon request and subject to a separate agreement.

Creative Direction

Clients are encouraged to share their vision and brand goals, but by hiring me, you are entrusting my creative judgment and professional style.

All final image selection, editing, and retouching are completed at my discretion unless otherwise outlined in writing. Creative dissatisfaction is not a basis for refund or refusal of deliverables.

File Storage and Archiving

Digital files are delivered through an online platform. Clients are responsible for downloading and backing up files upon delivery.

All proofed and final images are archived for a limited time. After this period, files may be permanently deleted and are not guaranteed to be recoverable.

Travel and Expenses

For shoots requiring travel, clients are responsible for covering or reimbursing reasonable expenses, including transportation, lodging, meals, and other project-related costs.

Any travel arrangements must meet safety and comfort standards. If accommodations are unsuitable, I reserve the right to make alternative arrangements at the client’s expense.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

If the client cancels, reschedules, or fails to meet their responsibilities causing the shoot to be delayed or canceled, all retainers remain non-refundable. Additional fees may apply to reschedule.

In cases where I am unable to perform services due to emergency or circumstances beyond my control, the client will be notified immediately. Refunds or credits may be issued based on services rendered to date.

Limitation of Liability

My total liability for any claims related to a project will not exceed the total amount paid for that project.

I am not responsible for delays, damage, or loss due to circumstances beyond my control, including but not limited to equipment failure, file corruption, film issues, or natural conditions during production or post-processing.

Client Conduct and Safety

Professional conduct and a respectful working environment are expected at all times. If at any point I feel unsafe, harassed, or otherwise unable to perform services due to conduct or conditions, I reserve the right to leave the job and retain all fees paid.

Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform their obligations if such failure results from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, health emergencies, travel bans, war, or acts of terrorism.

Final Notes

These policies are intended to establish a clear, professional foundation for working together. Each project is unique, and custom terms may be discussed and incorporated into individual contracts.

If you have questions or require clarification about anything listed here, I’m always happy to connect.
