To add a new Portfolio post, follow the instructions below.
Step One — Duplicate Template Post
Duplicate Template — Hover over the post titled “[TEMPLATE]” in the Portfolio Page panel and click click ... > Settings; in Project Settings > General, scroll to the bottom and click “Duplicate”.
Step Two — Project Settings
Hover over the post titled “[TEMPLATE] (Copy)” in the Portfolio Page panel and click ... > Settings.
General— Update the Title and URL Slug to match your project name. Replace the Featured Image.
SEO — Update the SEO Title to match your project name. Update the SEO Description to match your project content with applicable keywords; otherwise it will pull from your page’s copytext.
Save — Click “SAVE” in the upper left-hand corner.
Step Three — Edit Post
Text Blocks — Replace the Title, Metadata and Intro, text block content at the top of the post. At the bottom of the page, update the Credits text block content.
Image BlockS — Click the + icon in the image blocks, and choose upload file to select your optimized image, or select from library to use a previously uploaded image.
Save — Click “SAVE” in the upper left-hand corner.
Step Four — Link to Preview Page
Summary Block Instructions — Copy the URL Slug of your post (ie “/projects/sosta-house”), then follow the instructions in the “Projects - Summary Block” page to make sure your new post is displayed in the overview page!
Note — Draft Mode
While Squarespace’s native “Portfolio Page” feature does not allow for you to place posts in “Draft” mode (like a blog layout does), there is custom script installed so that any posts that include the following text in their titles will not be visible in the Portfolio Page index, or the pagination links:
